Caddiebot ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.

1. Information we collect

We collect the following information when you use Caddiebot:

• Account information — your email address and password (stored securely via Supabase Auth)
• Profile information — your name, username, handicap, home course, and profile photo (if provided)
• Golf data — rounds you log including course, score, conditions, feelings, and notes
• Club yardages — distances you enter for your clubs
• Voice recordings — audio captured during voice caddie sessions, sent to OpenAI Whisper for transcription and not stored after processing
• Location data — approximate location used only to fetch local weather conditions when you choose to use the weather auto-detect feature. We do not store your location.
• Usage data — app activity such as rounds logged and features used, used to improve the app

2. How we use your information

• To provide and personalise the Caddiebot experience
• To power AI features — your golf data and chat messages are sent to Anthropic's Claude API to generate caddie advice and analysis
• To transcribe voice input via OpenAI's Whisper API
• To send transactional emails (account confirmation, password reset) via Resend
• To track your progress, streaks, and achievements within the app
• To improve app performance and fix issues

3. Third-party services

We use the following third-party services to operate Caddiebot:

• Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage (Privacy Policy)
• Anthropic — AI language model powering caddie chat and analysis (Privacy Policy)
• OpenAI — voice transcription via Whisper API (Privacy Policy)
• Resend — transactional email delivery (Privacy Policy)
• OpenWeatherMap — weather data based on approximate location (Privacy Policy)

4. Data storage and security

Your data is stored securely on Supabase infrastructure. We use row-level security policies to ensure you can only access your own data. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text. We do not sell your data to third parties.

5. Data retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data and golf rounds will be permanently deleted within 30 days. Voice recordings are not retained — they are processed and discarded immediately.

6. Your rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your account and all associated data
• Export your golf data

7. Children's privacy

Caddiebot is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or in-app notice. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
